COVID-19 Response

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 developments. We are in communication with local medical and infectious disease experts and are taking our lead from them and the Center for Disease Control.

As always, the health and wellbeing of our members and staff is our priority. With growing concerns regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we wanted to share our organization-wide plan with the CG community.

Cleanliness is of the utmost priority at City Gym. We use hospital-grade disinfectant solutions, offer hand sanitizers, sanitizer wipes, and towels as a way for us to be as proactive to ensure everyone's wellbeing. In addition to these practices, we have increased our cleaning protocols to target doorknobs, props, weights, and other surfaces are cleaned with even more frequency, as well as, added more hand sanitizers to the space.

It was suggested that if we wanted to practice an abundance of caution we should encourage our community to be mindful of their gym usage following travel.

With Spring Break happening in the next few weeks please be extra mindful about your health following a trip. We know that the virus takes approximately 2-14 days to develop symptoms from exposure. If you are so motivated, social limiting in community spaces following travel could have positive impacts.

We are absolutely not saying that you shouldn’t come to the gym — simply that should you want extra ways to ensure the safety of our community, this is one such consideration.

We are continuing our protocol of deep, frequent cleaning with hospital-grade cleaning supplies and encouraging staff and members to practice exceptional personal hygiene. As mentioned before, please do not come to the gym if you aren’t feeling well and if you’ve had a fever do not come to the gym until 48 hours fever-free. These practices serve to protect not only ourselves but the most vulnerable among us.

Best Practices:

1.) Wash hands with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.

2.) Avoid touching your face.

3.) Use gym provided sanitary wipes before/after touching surfaces.

4.) Wipe down any/all equipment after usage with gym provided sanitary wipes.

5.) Consider bringing your own yoga mat.

6.) Stay home if not feeling well.

7.) Stay home 48 hours after the resolution of a fever.

8.) Symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

Feel reassured that we are working hard to keep our community safe and are responding as quickly and decisively as possible as we get new information. Internally we have developed an action plan that we will implement as necessary. We will continue to stay in close, consistent communication with you all.
