Albert attended the University of Iowa and has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years. Training is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle that doesn’t come without proper instruction and commitment. Being healthy isn’t so much of a personal decision as it is a responsibility you have to your family, your friends, and most importantly to yourself! I believe in a combination of properly performed strength and cardiovascular training in conjunction with a healthy diet. Achieving better health does not necessarily mean cutting out the foods and activities that you love, but rather balancing the poor habits with the good to achieve a higher level of well-being. Being healthy is one of the more vital parts of life, as is being happy. Therefore, the goal should be to find enjoyment and balance in the pursuit of better health!

About Andrew

Andrew holds an Advanced Diploma in Public Safety with an Investigations Major from Melbourne, Australia. He met his American wife on a remote beach in Southern Thailand, and we are so glad that he landed in Kansas City and came to work at City Gym. Andrew has been in the fitness industry for over three years and his favorite aspect of Personal Training is seeing his clients achieve goals and feel excited about the changes in their bodies. In Andrew’s free time, he enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with his wife and son.

Cheryl is both an instructor and trainer. She received her B.A. in English, from the University of Missouri- Columbia and is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. She has worked in fitness for 10 years and believes that fitness should be something you enjoy. She says, "If you don't like what you're doing, you won't stick with it for the long term." Cheryl's favorite thing about working in this industry is connecting with people in class and building personal relationships. In her free time she likes to to run with friends, do yoga, play in the garden, read good books, hang with her dachshund (we love wiener dogs at CGKC) and see movies. Hailee is the Owner and Founder of City Gym. She attended the University of Minnesota, where she also played collegiate soccer. She brings over 12 years of experience to her personal training sessions and group classes, and she specializes in weight loss, pre/post-natal and total transformations. Hailee’s favorite thing about fitness is inspiring her clients. She loves being part of their journey to realizing how strong they really are. In her spare time, she is still a movement junkie. She loves to run, cycle, ski, you name it! She also enjoys meditating, cooking and a good Netflix marathon session.

About Thomas

Having an athletic history and along with it several injuries, Dr. Tom Teter is passionate about finding the underlying cause of many of the injuries facing athletics. As opposed to the traditional model of care which involves chasing symptoms and pain, Dr. Teter aims to find the underlying cause of his patients problems. He believes that every patient is unique, and although several people can present with the same complaint, it may be caused by completely different things.

  • Dr. Teter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies with an emphasis in Health and Wellness Promotion from Missouri State University. He earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri.
     
  • Certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is also a Certified Functional Strength Coach.
     
  • Certified in the Functional Movement Screen and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment by Functional Movement Systems. He is also certified instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization by the Graston Technique, SMART Tools.Plus, and in the FAKTR integrated soft tissue therapy system, as well as being certified as a Kinesiotaping specialist.

Small Group Personal Training is a great way to receive individualized attention, but still enjoy a small group dynamic.
